WELCOME TO JOHN JOHNSON WILLOUGHBY POST

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.
 

Announcements

I would like to welcome everyone to our new website VFW1500.org we will be using the website to keep members informed of post events, and as an advertising tool to attract new members. Thank You to Machelle Poldiak for her efforts to make this possible.

In April we gave $500.00 to sponsor a Willoughby Little League team, $800 for Mentor Coed Softball team, $500.00 to Erie Street Miracles Feast Festival, and $500.00 to the Military Order of the Cooties.  totaling $2300.00 for April.
 
The VFW membership elected next year's officers.  They will take their positions on July 1st.  I would like to welcome Mike Cardilli as the new Sr. Vice Commander and Bill Dittibrand as Jr Vice Commander!  Thank you to Jim Trettin and Tracy Duracensky for their work last year as Sr and Jr Vice Commanders.  The rest of the officers will maintain their current positions.
 
The new Bowling League starts April 7, there is still time to enter your team.  See Mark Greathouse.  The banquet for this League will be a Lake County Captains game in a suite on July 20th.
 
This summer we will have the front parking lot re-asphalted.

We are looking to have the roof done over the older part of the building.

We are also planning to replace 2 of the 3 fryers in the kitchen.
